Dempster Captures Season Finale at Brighton

Wilson Claims Night One of Classic Weekend

By Clayton Johns - BRIGHTON – Rick Wilson (No.42W Riverside Bar & Grill) and Keith Dempster (No.5 Renway Energy) brought the 21-car Southern Ontario Sprints field to life for the 25-lap feature presented by Sanderson’s Tire and Automotive. Wilson jumped out to the early lead and had Dempster in tow as both cars ran the cushion. Third-place starter Glenn Styres (No.0 Case IH) got in to the mix early. (more)



By Clayton Johns - BRIGHTON – The pit area saw 21 sprint cars sign in for action at Brighton Speedway on Rapid Rad and Star 93.3 night, featuring the Southern Ontario Sprints (SOS) on Saturday. The SOS made their fourth appearance at Brighton this season for a 25-lap feature. (more)



By Mike Bennett - The threat of severe weather was all around South Buxton Raceway earlier Saturday. But no one saw a tornado coming – especially not Keith Dempster and Glenn Styres. The Ohsweken Speedway teammates were locked in a great battle for the lead but suddenly found themselves getting swept up by the ‘Tilbury Tornado.’ (more)


Brown completes Brighton hat-trick with SOS

Brown started on the pole after earning top qualifier and pulling the pole during the redraw on the frontstretch in front of the Brighton Speedway fans. (more)


Glenn Styres Finally Finds Victory Lane At South Buxton Raceway With SOS

Mike Bennett, South Buxton Raceway (July 5, 2014) - Glenn Styres has a collection of trophies and checkered flags from his many trips to South Buxton Raceway over the last 12 years. But one thing was missing from his mantelpiece – a feature win trophy. The owner of Ohsweken Speedway finally conquered South Buxton on Saturday night with his first career feature win on the 3/8th-mile ‘D-shaped’ oval in front of a crowd of more than 2,000 fans for the Southern Ontario Sprints. The 'Flying Physician' Takes First Victory With SOS At Ohsweken Speedway

Tommy Goudge/Mike Ferrell (July 4, 2014) - A clear, warm summer evening greeted the Southern Ontario Sprints as they rolled into Ohsweken Speedway on Friday night to take on the local weekly Corr/Pak Sprints. While billed as a challenge race between the two groups its more of a home coming for the SOS as 25 of the 30 entries for the night are full or part time SOS members. Mitch Brown Scores Road Win With SOS At Brighton Speedway

The Brantford, Ontario native started on the pole of the 25 lap main event and picked up his first career Southern Ontario Sprints win. The schedule for the eighteenth season of competition is now set for the Southern Ontario Sprints (SOS). 2014 will see the SOS visit 4 different tracks across the province, including a return to one for the first time in a while.
